Notwithstanding its importance, Igbo language teaching and learning still face significant challenges in student engagement, teacher methodology, etc. The writers explained the current state of Igbo language instruction, identified innovative approaches and strategies employed by teachers and examined their impact on students learning outcomes. This work is qualitative research. Oral interviews and classroom observations were used for data collection. Findings revealed that innovative approaches such as technology integration and culturally responsive teaching have improved student innovation and language proficiency.
