Abstract
The research is a lexico-semantic analysis of the inaugural speech of president Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinibu. A simple random sampling technique was adopted for the studyand Componential Analysis in order to look at the features of every lexeme in analyzing the speech. The researchers hinged the study on Jose Trier’sLexical Field Theory and SemanticField(1931) as it theoretical model. The result shows that the semantic features employed in the speech significantly impact its effectiveness and persuasive power. They help to shape the audience's perception, evoke specific emotional responses, establish credibility, and enhance the persuasive impact of the speech. Thelexico-semantic features employed in the speech are proficiently and manipulatively used to shape the audience's perception and generate a specific response. They range from positive and impactful language to emotive language, expert vocabulary, and figurative expressions. By carefully choosing words and crafting these linguistic features. The speech aims to appeal to the audience's emotions, establish credibility, and persuade them to support the speaker's vision and goals.
